The paradisiacal qualities of the Maldives are well known with a plethora of big name hotels dominating the hospitality market. Summer Island, a long-established mid-range resort, wanted to move up to a more luxurious positioning after a substantial renovation. The challenge was how to attract new customers without alienating a highly-loyal, existing customer base.
LIQUID’s role in creating this brand was to define it against the global chain hotels by leveraging the USP that this was not a cookie cutter resort but a boutique, one island one hotel concept you needed to see to believe. An exotic brand identity was created, and branded touchpoints throughout the larger area gave the feeling of a complete brand experience whilst still being true to the original concept, an essential element in ensuring existing customers were kept on board.
