After the success of Yum Yum Xcite brand which massively disrupted the marketplace by owning a large share of the market, it was decided to launch an additional brand extension again for the younger demographic, several years later. The question was, “how to approach this?”

Solution
Our approach was to understand the younger demographic mindset and behavioral context. With the popularity of gaming both in desktop and mobile formats, we considered this a good strategic platform by which to differentiate the brand and appeal to the target audience. Yum Yum Ultra was developed as the brand with characters to represent the taste and flavour of each product, and to appeal to a wider range of demographics and interests. Each character was hand illustrated based on criteria and personas, utilised on the packaging, and in an animated video for the product launch.
The dynamic and engaging set of characters conceptualised and created reflected both the taste experience of each flavour type, and provided a platform to tell a captivating and relevant story for the intended younger gaming audience.
