Oxfam

Oxfam, through its Dear Consumers brand, was aiming to drive awareness on issues related to food hygiene within the food supply chain in Thailand. The checks and balances related to how food is grown and harvested, the control over additives and other chemical ingredients are not always accurate enough for the consumer to make an informed decision. The idea was to focus on the orange supply chain as a first step.

Solutions

This issue has many moving parts and is quite a complex story involving multiple stakeholders. We wanted to create an easy to understand story, so that the audience could engage with the topic and comprehend the issues easily. We developed a series of characters in LINE app style illustration designs that enabled us to tell the story in an engaging and emotive way. This combined with two events, one for stakeholders including supermarkets and government officials, and one panel discussion with national media ensured we significantly exceeded client expectations.

This integrated marketing campaign’s central narrative around the protagonist “Toxic Orange”, and the development of a series of characters allowed us to tell a complex story and in a visual way, across all the various touchpoints developed. From animated social media videos, to event materials and displays, through to influencers and media all points of communication interacted impactfully with the audience.
